Tōkyō Metro Marunouchi Line, leaving Yotsuya station in central Tōkyō. The series 02 was introduced in 1988, this set was built in 1994. It is similar to the Ginza line’s series 01, which is now being phased out, so the series 02 may also not last very long. 20/05/2012. Photo: Oliver Mayer

Tōkyō Metro 10000 series train, arriving at Kawagoe-shi station in Saitama prefecture. The series 10000 was first introduced in 2006 for services on the Yurakucho Line, and later also used on the Fukutoshin Line, when it opened for service in 2008. These trains can be seen not only on those two subway lines, but also on the Tōbu Tōjō Line (where this photo was taken), on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, the Tōkyū Tōyoko Line and the Minato Mirai Line. 31/05/2015.
