Gakunan Railway Freight Service Farewell
This month we showcase the paper freight trains of the private Gakunan Railway, which meets JR Tokai’s Tokaido Line at Yoshiwara in Shizuoka Prefecture. The Gakunan Railway’s freight service will cease early next year.
Gakunan’s veteran ED501 built in 1928 by Kawasaki Shipyard with a train of container wagons at Yoshiwara on 4th November 2011.
Gakunan’s 1965 built Nippon Sharyo ED40 3 in a suitable livery for this traffic on 4th November 2011.
