On a fine spring day, a 201 series train in the Chuo Line rapid service snakes through downtown Tokyo towards Ochanomizu. On a viaduct in the distance is a yellow liveried Sobu Line local.

Resting in the sidings of Matsumoto depot, Nagano prefecture, are 183 series, E351 series, both for the Chuo Line limited express service, and 165 series for the local service in the area.
