The Japanese Railway Society (JRS) was founded in 1991 in London to promote the railways of Japan in the UK & other non Japanese-speaking countries.

2026 Linesiding Tour of Japan

The Japanese Railway Society is delighted to help promote the Linesiding Tour of Japan in May-June 2026. Detailed information can be found by clicking on the button below. The tour is mainly aimed at non-Japan based JRS members and will suit someone who would like a well-structured guided tour to see a wide variety of Japanese rail-based transport. It will be ideal for someone who has not visited Japan before or for someone who is not able to read and speak much/any Japanese. Japan-based JRS members who wish to join for specific parts of the tour are welcome as long as they contribute to the cost of any special arrangements.

The tour is priced in Japanese yen to avoid the effect of any changes in exchange rates between now and the start of the tour. The price is ¥724,700 which includes single room accommodation with breakfast and almost all of the transport costs and entrance fees. The tour starts in Tokyo and ends in Chiba and clear transfer instructions from and to Narita or Haneda airports will be provided. Further details of what is included and what is not can be provided to anyone who is contemplating the tour.
